The Aliens are Here! (Audio)

On October 30, 1938 -- 79 years ago this October, 2017… Orson Wells directed the Mercury Theater group to perform a realistic broadcast version of HG Wells sci fi classic, War of the Worlds, which portrayed an attack on the earth by Martians. Complete with sound effects and a well-written script, it is estimated that as many as 1 million listeners to that CBS evening broadcast believed it to be true.

When I was a boy my parents used to listen to country music. It's changed a lot since then as a genre, but I've never really grown to love the sound of country music. When I was young, country music always had a melancholy tone to it. Most of the music my parents listened to was about heartbreak, drinking, divorce, cheating, that sort of thing. Usually somebody had “been done wrong” and the song was their tale of woes.
